🚗⚡ Last week, our colleauges Chris Hermann and Oleksandr Solomakha joined the final event of the autotech.agil project at the Aldenhoven Testing Center.
We presented our technology demonstrator showing how drivetrain power electronics can become an active digital participant in the vehicle’s service-oriented architecture.
💡 With our approach, power electronics can:
✅ Assess their state-of-health (SOH)
✅ Predict remaining useful lifetime (RUL)
✅ Adapt behavior dynamically
✅ Extend lifetime by up to 60% through predictive control
✅ Seamlessly integrate data into predictive maintenance, route planning & traffic management
🔬 Our demonstrator applied:
- AI & Machine Learning for lifetime prediction
- Digital Twin technology
- Power-HIL testing for realistic conditions
- CARLA simulator connected to our physical setup
- Robust communication via MQTT, Ethernet-UDP, SPI & more
This marks an important step toward embedding power electronics into the digital ecosystem of sustainable electromobility — improving lifetime, enhancing reliability, and making driving safer.
