💡 Advancing bidirectional charging with gallium nitride-based semiconductors!

🏁 This is the overarching goal of the GaN4EmoBil research project, which has been researching the development of novel GaN technologies since July 2023 to enable a cost-effective, efficient and compact electronics and system solution.
The project is not only developing a new, cost-effective GaN component with an alternative carrier substrate. This innovation is also to be used and tested in bidirectional charging systems for electric vehicles and charging stations as part of the project.
The project team consisting of Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Physics IAF, Robert Bosch GmbH, Ambibox GmbH and Michael Bosch, Jeremy Nuzzo and Dominik Koch from ILH reached the first milestone by designing and specifying the semiconductors and demonstrators, which were presented and discussed at the project meeting on March 15, 2024 in Mainz.
Mani Yousefpour attended the meeting on behalf of the accompanying research.
